Mutations in pathogenic microorganisms allow them to adapt to the antibacterial drugs that are used against them. Such changes require scientists to improve the available medicines to successfully combat disease-causing bacteria. The veterinary industry is no exception. The use of "Amoxicillin" for cattle is one of the most effective, affordable and safe methods of treating animals.

Composition and release form of the drug

The main active ingredient is trihydrate, which is contained in a volume of 150 milligrams per 1 milliliter of suspension. In addition to the main component, the composition of "Amoxicillin" includes additional components:

  • benzyl alcohol;
  • vegetable oil;
  • aluminum monostearate;
  • butylhydroxytoluene.

The release forms are different:

  • suspensions;
  • powders;
  • pills;
  • solutions.

Suspensions and solutions are used for injection, with the first option being the most common in the treatment of cattle.

Hermetic packaging is presented in the form of a dark glass bottle. The dosage of the drug can be (ml):

  • 10;
  • 100;
  • 250.

The first type is not used for cattle, since even a small animal needs a much higher dosage. The contents of the bottle are presented in the form of a light yellow or white oily liquid. Over time, the uniformity of the consistency is disturbed, however, when shaken, it is completely restored.

Shake the bottle before use so that the contents become homogeneous.

Since no more than 20 milliliters of "Amoxicillin" can be injected at one point, for most large animals, two administrations of the drug are required at different points. If the body weight exceeds 600 kilograms, three points are needed.

Side effects and contraindications

Sometimes animals have an allergic reaction to the components of the drug. Antihistamines help to cope with the problem.

In rare cases, a slight swelling is possible at the injection site, which disappears spontaneously after a couple of days. Antibiotic hypersensitivity is very rare. To eliminate the negative effect, the use of "Amoxicillin" is stopped. Contraindications to the use of the drug are:

  • increased individual intolerance.
